A peaceful holiday season – doesn’t that sound glorious?
It’s something we all strive for. After all – it’s what’s advertised in every storefront and sung in every holiday song…
But there’s no way that actually exists, right?
Not for someone with ADHD living in a state of chronic disorganization…
Not with the crushing weight of expectations and to-do’s that seem to snowball the minute November 1st rolls around…
Well we want to let you in on a little secret…it actually does exist – and we can help you achieve it.
How?
With ADHD coaching.
Why is this the answer?
Because with coaching for ADHD organization, you’re given the tools to cultivate gratitude from a place of self-worth – and this is what makes for lasting change, not to mention a lifetime of peace.
Let’s dive into why this works.
ADHD Organization and Gratitude – The Dynamic Duo
Cultivating gratitude from a place of self-worth can significantly enhance ADHD organization by shifting the focus from self-criticism to self-appreciation – from what’s lacking to what’s present.
When you recognize and celebrate small wins—whether it’s completing a task, staying on track for a short period, or simply making progress—you’re reinforcing a positive cycle of self-empowerment. That, “ahh, I did this!” feeling.
What a mindset shift, right? And it encourages a sense of capability, making it easier to stay motivated and organized. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by disorganization, practicing gratitude for the steps you’ve taken and the efforts you’ve made helps build confidence and reinforces the belief that you can handle challenges, one task at a time.
This newfound perspective can make the process of organization feel less daunting and more rewarding. As you implement structured systems and routines, you begin to see the tangible benefits of your efforts, reinforcing a sense of accomplishment.
This synergy not only helps manage daily challenges but also empowers individuals to embrace their unique strengths, ultimately leading to profound personal growth and a more fulfilling life.
But how do you tap into this level of gratitude?
That’s where ADHD coaching enters the chat.
ADHD Coaching In a Nutshell
ADHD coaching offers evidence-based approaches to improving one’s quality of life by helping build confidence, improve task management, and foster long-term success.
By breaking down organizational goals into achievable steps, coaches help those with ADHD recognize their accomplishments, build self-esteem, and reinforce a positive mindset.
The proof of its effectiveness is in the work itself, but the studies are there to back it up as well.
According to Psychology Today, ADHD coaching not only boosts practical skills but also promotes emotional well-being by providing individuals with tailored support, structure, and accountability.
Simply put, ADHD coaching is a powerful approach in cultivating gratitude by helping individuals develop strategies to shift their focus toward the positive aspects of their lives.
And speaking of shifting focus, that’s the premise of our tried and true SHiFTⓇ Method – designed to transform lives for the long haul. To make a life of peace and organization a true reality for those with ADHD and chronic disorganization.
Let’s chat about what this looks like.
ADHD Coaching With The SHiFTⓇ Method
The SHiFT MethodⓇ – this is where the real magic happens.
This is where things come together – where everything clicks. For good this time.
SHiFTⓇ (Social, Health, i am deserving, Financial, and Time) represents the core aspects of life that build up the foundation to support real change.
When we work with you as your ADHD coach, we’re not only providing you with tools to enhance the functional aspects of your day to day life, we’re working on the underlying matters that piece everything together to make things stick.
We believe by working with compassion and patience, the process of discovering each individual’s strengths and setbacks within each area of SHiFTⓇ unveils opportunity for incredible transformation.
In fact, we don’t just believe it – we know it.
We’ve witnessed it, just as it’s shown in the stories of those in our debut book, Making The SHiFT®.
We’ve seen our clients completely change their lives and restore peace.
So it’s true – you really can invite peace and calm into your life this holiday season.
And we want to help you do that.
ADHD Coaching Tips to Cultivate Gratitude This Holiday Season
For a peaceful and restorative holiday season, here are some ways you can turn inward and develop gratitude as it relates to the SHiFTⓇ Method.
Social –
Be conscious of who you surround yourself with.
Take a moment to list out the people you spend most of your time with, and journal about how they enrich your life and support your journey to change.
Once you have a list of the people who build up that support system, take a moment each day to think about how you’re grateful for them, and make it a practice to remind them of how you feel. When we extend this kind of gratitude to others, it multiplies within us and further supports our journey.
And remember, it doesn’t matter what the size of your list is – it’s the quality of the interactions that matter most.
Health –
Good health (both physical and mental) is the foundation for most everything in life – we all know this to be true. And once you start to make positive changes, your health will inevitably improve.
But even before you make changes, it’s so beneficial to take stock of where you are currently and practice showing gratitude for that. For example; even if your health is not where you would like it to be, having an able body that allows you to step outside in the morning and feel the warm sunshine on your skin is a blessing in itself. This may seem so simple, but taking notice of these things can significantly enhance your overall well-being.
It also helps you to take note of your resilience and strength that your body and mind demonstrate in difficult times. It helps you focus on the ways that you are able to take care of yourself and move forward, one step at a time.
i am deserving –
This area encourages you to cultivate gratitude for your own efforts, talents, and value. It involves recognizing that you are deserving of good things in life—success, love, joy, and peace. Practicing this form of gratitude helps counter self-doubt or negative self-talk, fostering a positive self-image and a sense of empowerment.
Each day, practice affirming to yourself that you deserve happiness and success, and reflect on your achievements – whether large or small.
Now we understand how difficult this area can be – what if you feel like you haven’t accomplished anything? What if you feel like you can never do enough, or simply cannot get anything right?
The thing is, this isn’t about being perfect. Perfect does not exist. In fact, this isn’t even about accomplishment and success.
It’s about feeling grateful and prideful for your efforts.
For your perseverance.
For the unique qualities you bring to the table.
If you have a hard time coming up with some of these positive qualities you possess, have a close friend or family member help you write some out. Maybe you’re not organized and timely, but you’re creative, compassionate, and curious…whatever it is that makes you who you are is what makes you deserving of a beautiful, wholesome life – just as you are.
Financial –
Financial circumstances can be very tricky to navigate, but practicing gratitude around it focuses on appreciating your current situation, whether you’re financially comfortable or working to improve. It involves acknowledging the resources you have, no matter how much or little, and cultivating a mindset of abundance rather than scarcity.
Gratitude in this area can shift your perspective, helping you feel more at peace with what you have and more open to opportunities for financial growth.
Practice this affirmation daily:
“I am open to receiving abundance in all areas of my life, and I trust that opportunities are constantly flowing toward me.”
Time –
Time is one of the most precious resources we have, and practicing gratitude for the time you have in front of you helps you to find value in the moments you spend with others and yourself.
This can include appreciating time spent with loved ones, time for rest and self-care, or time dedicated to learning and pursuing passions. Acknowledging the gift of time helps you feel more present and intentional with how you spend it.
Reflect on how you spend your time each day. Whether it’s moments of productivity or restful downtime, appreciate the time you have and the balance it brings to your life.
